Donald Cerrone vs. Jim Miller Headlines UFC Fight Night in Atlantic City nj

The UFC is quickly filling up its summer schedule as the recently announced Fight Night in Atlantic City, N.J. now has a main event.

Donald Cerrone and Jim Miller will face off in a five-round lightweight headliner. Both men have rebounded from inconsistency to look amazing in their past few fights.

Cerrone is on a three-fight winning streak and is coming off of what some are calling a career-best performance. He submitted Edson Barboza in the first round at UFC on FOX 11. This will be Cerrone’s third fight of the year, making it half way to his goal of fighting six times in 2014.

Miller, meanwhile, has won two straight and got a submission victory of his own just one week later at UFC 172. Miller put Yancy Medeiros to sleep via guillotine choke.

Interestingly, this will be the first time these two mainstays of the UFC lightweight division have crossed paths. The two men are perennial contenders in the lightweight division, but have yet to fully break through for a title shot. The winner of this bout will certainly do a lot to finally get that shot at the belt. The fight will certainly have fight fans salivating in anticipation as the two have combined for 15 post-fight bonuses.

UFC Fight Night 45: Cerrone vs. Miller takes place on July 16 from The Revel Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City. The main card will air live on Fox Sports 1. The undercard is expected to stream on the promotion’s digital network, UFC Fight Pass. More bouts for the event are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
