BREAKING NEWS: The NSAC is trying to block UFC fighter Chael Sonnen from competing @ Metamoris 4

Last month the NSAC suspended Chael Sonnen for two years after two failed drug tests. However the NSAC never barred Sonnen from competing in his grappling match against Andre Galvao at Metamoris 4 later this month.
Today news has surfaced that the NSAC is attempting to block Chael Sonnen from competing in his headlining match at Metamoris 4, and is threatening to fine Sonnen should he compete.
Bleacher Report lead MMA writer Jeremy Botter broke the news:
“Multiple sources confirm NSAC has threatened to fine Sonnen $250,000 per failed drug test violation if he competes at Metamoris. Sonnen camp’s contention is that grappling is not fighting and suspension shouldn’t cover it. Sonnen has hired Vegas lawyer Ross Goodman to represent him in the case.”
Ralek Gracie was unaware of the situation until it was brought up to him by Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com

Does Chael Sonnen have business fighting at light heavyweight? #boston

Does Chael Sonnen have any business fighting at light heavyweight? Though all of his previous UFC fights were at middleweight, Sonnen talked his way into a title shot at light heavyweight. After losing to Jon Jones, he's trying another bout at 205 lbs. with Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. He can show if he belongs fighting at this weight or if he should go back down to middleweight.

Has Alistair Overeem recovered from being knocked out by Antonio Silva? When "Big Foot" knocked out Overeem in February, it was the first time he had suffered a knockout since 2007. Returning from a shocking loss like that is no small feat. He can show if he's resilient in a bout with Travis Browne.

Does Matt Brown deserve a title shot? He's been under the radar, but he is on a five-fight winning streak, with the last three wins coming by second round knockouts. With an impressive win over Mike Pyle, he could get the next welterweight title shot.

Can Conor McGregor live up to the hype? For a guy with one UFC win, McGregor has generated an awful lot of buzz. He will get a chance to show what he's capable of against Max Holloway, who is coming off of a loss to Dennis Bermudez.

Is Uriah Hall just a TUF star? Everyone was blown away with the raw power Hall showed during "The Ultimate Fighter," but he fizzled at the TUF finale and lost to Kelvin Gastelum. Against John Howard, Hall can show if he's just a TUF flash in the

Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis UFC on Fox 2 results and free video stream

What he needed to happen ... didn't happen, however. Henderson needed Phil Davis to score the upset over Rashad Evans, but that didn't happen, with "Sugar" likely taking at least four of the five rounds convincingly. Davis just didn't have anything for Rashad's seasoned style, and now Evans has earned himself a shot at Jon Jones and the Light Heavyweight Championship. Had Davis won the fight, he likely would have had to have another fight to get a title shot, but the loss to Evans sets him back.
With Anderson Silva likely fighting Chael Sonnen next for the Middleweight Championship, it looks like Henderson will need to fight to keep busy.
A win is a win is a win. For fast-rising - but still relatively unknown - Chris Weidman, you don't pass up an opportunity to fight on a FOX main card against a top-10 middleweight. Not even if you get just 11 days' notice and still have 32 pounds to shed in order for it to be official.

"You've always got supporters, you've always got haters," Bisping said. "But that's not what concerns me. What concerns me is going out there and putting on great fights and providing for my wife and children."
Chris Weidman earns a unanimous decision victory over Demian Maia in the opening bout of the main card of the UFC on FOX 2: "Evans vs. Davis" event last night (Sat., Jan. 28, 2012) at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Bruce Buffer originally announced that Weidman had won a split decision; however, UFC President Dana White later tweeted that a mistake was made and Weidman had actually won via unanimous decision.
"I wanted to win tonight, but I obviously didn't do enough. I feel I won the fight, but obviously Chael's walking away the victor."

Though he is disappointed in not having his hand raised, Bisping is not making any excuses. He did have a change in opponent on short notice as he was originally set to fight Demian Maia, but an opportunity arose for him to get a chance to fight in the main event against Sonnen when Mark Munoz got hurt and he jumped all over it.
Some believe that this change in opponent

The co-main event features middleweights Chael Sonnen and Mark Munoz, with the winner possibly being granted a title shot against UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
Sonnen fell to Silva after taking the champion to task for five rounds during their championship bout at UFC 117 in August of 2010. Sonnen has been campaigning for a second shot at Silva since the loss, calling out the champion following a dominating performance over for WEC champion Brian Stann at UFC 136.
